Coupons

Coupons are limited to one per client per course. Clients may only use up to 2 coupons per year. Coupon must be presented the first night of the class series when cash balance is due and will be applied to the balance owed not the registration fee. Coupons may only be applied to full price classes and may not be used in conjunction with any other discounts. Coupons may not be used with payment plans.

Groupons

Groupons are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Students may schedule a session by emailing their full name, phone number and groupon number to groupon (at) templeofpoi (dawt) com. Students may only reschedule a class 7 days prior to the start date of the class without forfeiting the Groupon.

Registration

All Temple of Poi classes, workshops and intensives require registration prior to the start of class as space is limited to ensure students receive a high quality education. Students are required to put a deposit down for any class for which they are registering. This deposit is non-refundable, though it can be transferred if the student reschedules 7 days prior to the class and/or beginning of the series.

Payment Information

All payments are non-refundable.

To secure your spot in a class, you must place a deposit for the class with us prior to the first day of class. Deposit rates vary and are listed on the individual classes on our schedule on the registration page, though, generally, these are the deposit rates:

• Drop in classes: $25 (discounted full price for pre-registration)
• 2 week series classes: $30
• 4 week series classes: $60
• 6 week series classes: $80
• Beginner Boot Camp: $125
• Workshops: $50
• Performance Boot Camp: $100
• Intensives: 30%
• Privates: $135 (full price)
• Wielding Fire Experience: 50%

All class series, drop in and non semester workshops require payment for all classes of the series in full at the beginning of the first session of the series unless you have made arrangements with GllitterGirl for a payment plan.

Performance Boot Camps (16 sessions and a 20 minute private for a total fee of $500 divided over 5 monthly payments) require full payment for the series, regardless of attendance of the student throughout the workshop, and payments are due on the following schedule:

• Registration Fee: $100
• $100 a month for each of the remaining 4 months due on the 15th of the month

Beginner Poi Boot Camp requires full payment for the entire series, regardless of attendance of the student throughout the sessions. Payments are $125 per month for 7 months.

All payments are due in cash, credit card (via paypal*) or cashier’s check. We do not accept personal checks.
*PayPal/Credit Card payments, please add a $5 convenience fee to payments beyond the deposit. Please email GlitterGirl <at> TempleOfPoi <daught> com for payment address.

Private Sessions

All class payments are due at the beginning of class in cash or prior to the start of class via PayPal*. If you need to cancel a private session, students are required to do so with a minimum of 48 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Students canceling  with 48 hour notice given will have no penalty charge; 50% of tuition  if 24-48 hours notice given; under 24 hours notice and no shows will be charged 100%.

Additional flexibility may be available at our discretion.

Additional Payment for Fire Classes

In addition to an instructional fee for Fire classes, student should expect to pay to purchase materials. The fee will vary, depending on the specific class and tools being built. Student should budget approximately $90 for the materials which we will acquire for you and you will pay in the 2nd class of the series as we are building the poi.

Materials

Students are expected to provide their own practice tools.  Temple of Poi does sell practice poi and flag poi and we have a list of recommended tools from various vendors in our store.

Referral Credits

Students who have completed a full series of classes who refer a client to Temple of Poi who then registers for a full series of classes receive at full price receive a $15 credit that can be applied toward any non discounted intermediate (or beyond) level poi class. Must arrange in advanced with GlitterGirl to apply the credit to the class. May not be combined with any other discounts without prior approval from GlitterGirl.

Cancellations

Students may only reschedule a class or class series (under limited circumstances) 7 days prior to the start of the first date of the series or class without incurring a fee. If a student does not show up for a class within 15 minutes of the start time of the class without contacting the instructor prior to class, the instructor reserves the right to cancel the class (if all students are unaccounted for).

If Temple of Poi cancels a class, we will reschedule the class at a later date or offer a credit for the value of the missed class.

Though we may wave these fees in extenuating circumstances, cancellation
penalties are set as follows:

Series classes, workshops and
group intensives: no fee and
class is forfeit

Private classes and private
intensives: no penalty with 48 hour notice is given;
50% penalty if 24-48 hours notice given; under 24 hours notice and no shows will be charged 100%.

Makeup Class Policy

Beginner classes:
The most cost effective solution to missed beginner classes is to purchase the video lessons from our video library where the review videos can be downloaded for your own personal use. Prices vary, as listed below:

Beginner Poi Moves Class Series:

• Class 1: Left Hand Only, 24 Drills ($15)
• Class 2: Right Hand Only, 24 Drills (coming soonish…)
• Class 3: Sweeps/Chasing the Sun (coming soonish…)
• Class 4: Corkscrews and Pinwheels, same direction ( $5)
• Class 5: Butterflies and opposite direction variants ($5)
• Class 6: Crossovers, 2 & 3 beat weaves ($5)

Beginner Poi Dance Class Series:

• Class 1: Same direction transitions, lecture nots and diagrams on 4 videos; beginner performance theory. ($20)
• Class 2: Opposite direction transitions, transitions between same and opposite directions, using stalls, lecture notes and diagrams. ($20)
• Classes 1 & 2: all the videos from Classes 1 and 2, total run time approximately 56 minutes ($30)

Students wishing to attend an in person class may attend if we have space available, which is rare, for a drop in rate of $30. Students may also book us for a private session or use one of private sessions associated with their Beginner Poi Boot Camp if they are registered for the boot camp.

Intermediate Sessions: 

The curriculum for intermediate sessions are uniquely customized to the attendees of the class. As a result, most sessions can not be made up in another group class. However, we have an ever growing video library and encourage students to visit the video lessons frequently to assist in their learning process.

Non Beginner Series classes:
Students are welcome to take a private session at the current private session rate as a makeup for intermediate class. In some instances, students may schedule a makeup group class, where available, for a fee of $30 head (5 minimum) for each class.

Semester Workshops:
No makeup classes are available as each class is customized and one of a kind. Students are welcome to take a private session at the current private session rate as a makeup.

Waiting List Policy

Series classes:
Students name will be retained and approached for next opening in specified class and others that follow.

Series class with drop-in spots available: A students name will be placed on the waiting list for specified classes at a rate of $30 per session.

Starving Artist Pricing

For students interested in intermediate series classes for whom the regular series price does not work, limited work-trade opportunities are available. Please contact us for details. Arrangements are made on a case by case basis.

For students interested in beginner series classes for whom the regular series price does not work, when a student is qualified, one student per full section (5 or more students) may be offered a discounted rate of $150 upon request of the student with a steeper discount at our discretion.

Scholarship
Pricing

Temple of Poi, at its discretion, offers partial and full scholarship for classes. If you are interested in being considered for such a scholarship, please contact us for consideration.
